Jim Buxton was born and raised in Duncan, Oklahoma. He attended college at Ole Miss and Law School at Oklahoma City University. Jim did insurance defense work for 6 years before starting his own law practice to represent people who have been injured or accused. Jim has an active trial practice involving personal injury, governmental tort claims, wrongful death, and police/jail abuse cases. He also frequently teaches trial skills at seminars across the United States. Jim is a Martindale-Hubbell AV-rated attorney, was selected as a Super Lawyer in 2016, 2017, and 2020, and is a member of The American Board of Trial Advocates and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He is an Officer and serves as a Board Member for the Oklahoma Association for Justice (OAJ), is the chairman of Oklahoma Association for Justice Mentor Program, and has been teaching what he learned from the program at the Ranch for the last few years.. When he isn’t in the courtroom trying cases, teaching, or fishing, you can find him spending time with his wife Katherine and their two daughters Kneely and Gracie.
